Give the Gift of Reading

When a child has access to books at home, their world instantly becomes larger. In addition to an increase in reading performance, access to a home library has proven to provide academic achievement in other areas.

Donate to Imagination Library – Lexington today. Ignite imaginations and broaden horizons through the pages of books.

Are you looking for a unique gift for a family, friend or colleague? For every $25 you donate, you can honor someone important to you. Each $25 donation supplies one year’s worth of books for a child under age five in Lexington. An age-appropriate book will be sent to a child every single month in 2024 because of your generosity.

Perfect for clients, family or friends.

What your honoree receives:

A beautiful card with a ribbon (and Dolly Parton) notifying your recipient(s) of your gift of books to boost the love of reading for our littlest Lexingtonians.

Why is this important?

Babies’ and toddlers’ brains grow quickly, and the first three years are critical for language development. Building literacy and language skills help children become kindergarten-ready, so they enter school with a love of books and ready to learn. This is important for school success because eventually they move from learning to read, to reading to learn.

How does it work?

Because of your generosity, children in Lexington, ages birth to five, receive age-appropriate books through the mail, at no cost to families, for one whole year through the Imagination Library.
